Terms of Use
Sky Share Astro is a trade name. The services described here are provided by Thibaud Lefort, sole proprietor, 625 6e Avenue, Verdun, Montréal QC H4G 3A3, Canada. Payments are processed by Stripe and appear on your statement as SKYSHARE-ASTRO.COM.
1. Booking and Payment
Reservations must be made through our online platform only. Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your observation slot.
2. Sessions
A session runs from nautical dusk (about 45 minutes after sunset) to nautical dawn (about 45 minutes before sunrise). You select the target, framing, filters and exposure parameters through the platform; the Sky Share Astro team operates the equipment and runs the acquisition. We may adjust acquisition parameters when necessary to protect the equipment or the data quality (for example altitude limits or meridian flips), and we will tell you when we do.
3. Downloading Images
Overnight image downloads are prohibited to preserve bandwidth. Images will be delivered within 24 hours via secure platforms, as one calibrated and stacked FITS master per filter. The raw light frames and master calibration frames are archived and provided on request at no extra cost.
4. Weather Conditions
If usable data is captured for more than half of the booked night, the night counts as delivered and the full price applies. If usable data is captured for less than half of the night, we deliver the data and refund 50% of the night to your original payment method. If weather conditions prevent us from capturing any usable data, you choose between a free reschedule to another available night and a full refund to your original payment method. Our acquisition logs and the captured frames themselves are the reference for any weather-related question.
5. Cancellations and Postponements
Cancellations 5 days or more before the session: full refund. Cancellations less than 5 days before: no refund. Postponements 2 days or more before the session: no additional charges. Postponements less than 2 days before: 50% penalty applied.
6. Intellectual Property and Data Ownership
Final images you process from your session data are yours: you hold 100% of the rights to them and may use, publish and sell them freely, with or without credit to Sky Share Astro. The raw light frames and calibrated master FITS files delivered to you are licensed to you for unlimited personal and commercial processing. They may not be resold or redistributed as datasets. Sky Share Astro retains a perpetual, non-exclusive licence on the raw data captured by its equipment, for its own purposes (calibration, quality control, dataset library). Sky Share Astro will not publish a customer's unique framing as a finished image without asking first.
7. Modifications
Sky Share Astro reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via the website or by email.
